KINGMAN--Harold Orahood, 83-year-old retired school teacher and principal, died Tuesday at Hancock County Memorial Greenfield. Born June 14, 1882, a son of George and Meggie Fox Orahood, he had taught school in Randolph, Howard, LaPorte and Fountain Counties. He was married to Lula Ratcliff who died in 1946. A graduate of Indiana University in 1912, Mr. Orahood retired from teaching in 1950. He was a life member of the EUB Church at Kingman. Survivors include a son, Arbon who is principal of Eastern Hancock County High School at Charlottsville; a sister, Mrs. Ada Roberts of Veedersburg; and two grandsons, James, who is a cadet at West Point and Douglas, a student at Ball State University. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday here at Woodrow Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Shaver will officiate assisted by Rev. H. G. Kollmeyer. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery east of Yeddo. The family will meet visitors at the funeral home here from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 Thursday.   --typed by Walt W

Funeral services for Harold Orahood, age 83, of Kingman, who died Tuesday, March 29, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, Ind., were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. The Rev. Larry Shaver, assisted by the Rev. H. G. Kellmeyer, officiated and burial was in Centennial Cemetery, south of Veedersburg. Mr. Orahood was a retired school principal and had taught in Randolph, Howard, LaPorte and Fountain County schools. He was graduated from Indiana University in 1912 and retired from teaching in 1950. He had been residing at the home of his son, Arbon, in Charlottesville, Ind., recently. He was the son of George Washington and Maggie Fox Orahood. His wife, Lula, died in 1946. He was a life member of the EUB Church. Survivors include: his son, Arbon, principal of the Eastern Hancock High School at Charlottesville; one sister, Mrs. Ada Roberts of Veedersburg; and two grandsons.   --typed by Walt W
